Huge support from the community in furnishing the Killina Presentation Resource Centre

Donations of furniture and equipment to fit out the new Killina Presentation Centre made by local businesses have been welcomed by the committee.

The centre received the offer of a brand-new lawnmower and strimmer from KC Motors and Leamore Construction, a bespoke handmade wooden bench from Bawn Woodcraft and a projector from NIS – Network and Infrastructure Support. After an office upgrade, a large amount of furniture, IT equipment and appliances has been donated by ACETECH – Emergency Vehicle Specialists. Donie Keyes has offered the committee a commercial coffee machine for the centre and the the OPW has also pledged to provide furniture.

“We really are blown away by the backing we have received so far, in terms of financial support during our door-to-door collection, positive feedback and genuine interest in our plans for the new Killina Presentation Resource Centre and we are very grateful for donations of equipment to help fit out the convent building and keep it maintained,” said Chairman Noel Keyes.

Following a call-out for volunteers, a large group gathered at the former convent on Saturday 12th December to move the donated furniture into the building.

Any local business planning to upgrade their office or IT equipment and wishing to donate to the new resource centre can contact the committee. A committee member will examine the material for any suitable furniture, appliances, office/IT equipment etc. that is in good condition, to reuse in the centre. Donations from the hospitality industry would also be very welcome for the community café.
